An new wireless modem from Motient gives you always-on access to your e-mail and mobile Web sites from your Palm V handheld device.
The Motient MobileModem is a small add-on that attaches to a Palm V PDA to provide wireless connectivity. The company says you can get online and check and answer corporate e-mail from anywhere.
The modem is in constant contact with the Motient network, and will "wake up" the Palm every time a new message comes in. It lets the user know when a new message arrives by sending a vibration, tone, or visual alert. You can use the modem to connect wirelessly to messaging platforms such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and Novell Groupwise.
MobileModem will be available in the fall of 2001 for US$179 (this price includes a rebate).
