WebSphere/Domino Bundle Addresses E-Commerce Collaboration

The bundling of WebSphere and Domino lets customers increase speed and design of collaborative e-commerce applications.

IBM and Lotus Development Corp. announced the release of a new WebSphere/Domino bundle, making it quicker and easier for organizations to build collaborative Web solutions. A "Getting Started" offering was also announced, which delivers setup and configuration services for customers wanting to take advantage of the bundle immediately.

The bundle contains the transactive capabilities of the WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Addition, with the collaborative capabilities of Lotus Domino, giving companies a strong foundation on which to build their B2B commerce, customer service, and their supply-chain applications.

With WebSphere and Domino together, IBM and Lotus have shortened the procurement and delivery cycle for organizations trying to leverage the capabilities of both technologies. With this bundle, customers can now utilize other e-business technologies from Lotus and IBM such as Lotus Sametime and WebSphere Commerce Suite. The bundle increases the speed and ease developers can design collaborative e-commerce applications.

  • WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Edition (single CPU version) enterprise Java application server
  • WebSphere Studio Professional Edition integrated development environment for Web applications
  • Domino Application Server collaborative Web application platform
  • Domino Designer integrated development environment for collaborative applications
  • Domino Extranet CAL unlimited server license for Web access to Domino for non-employees

    The "Getting Started" package includes:
  • On-site/off-site consulting services
  • Setup and configuration of WebSphere and Domino on a Microsoft Windows NT server
