A downloadable update that fixes compatibility issues in FileMaker Pro 8.5 and FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced running on Mac OS X Leopard is now available.
This update fixes problems that caused FileMaker Pro 8.5 to hang when the system language and region didn't match, and when saving to or exporting to Microsoft Excel format.
Instant Web Publishing (IWP) doesn't work in FileMaker Pro 8.5v2 or FileMaker Pro 8.5v2 Advanced running on Mac OS X Leopard. According to FileMaker, Inc., IWP in FileMaker Pro 8.5 was designed and implemented long before Leopard, and it is not feasible to update it for Leopard.
The FileMaker Pro 8.5v2 update may help you make a smoother transition to FileMaker Pro 9. FileMaker, Inc., warns that there may be other issues with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced running on Leopard. Customers shoul use the current versions of all FileMaker software.
