Microsoft Visual FoxPro Testing with Empty Dates

VFP’s BETWEEN() function is useful for checking to see if a date lies within a given range, but it doesn't handle empty dates very well.

Here's how to to pass an empty date as the end of the range, and have it treated as the highest possible date; that is, it would always be considered higher than the date under test.
