Andel Consulting, an application service provider (ASP) that offers content management software, and Knowledge Management Software (KMS), a knowledge management software vendor, will partner to combine their offerings through content- and knowledge-driven software and services for businesses. The companies' current and future customers will get dynamic content creation capabilities and knowledge management functionality they can use in content-heavy intranets and portals.
Specifically, Andel's customers will receive faster and more accurate tools for finding key information. These tools will give them capabilities beyond what they get with traditional search engine methodologies, said Knowledge Management Software in its statement detailing the partnership. KMS will incorporate into its offerings Andel's expertise in designing and integrating content management functions that lets customer make quick additions and changes to their sites. Both companies aim to cut the time users spend looking for information by giving them faster access to portal/intranet content and management information.
Andel CEO Andrew Keating says the partnership is representative of a larger industry trend that will not only provide an easier way to create intuitive content, but also lead to Internet personalization. Combining these functions "will greatly enhance enterprise-wide efficiency," he said in the announcement.
The CM-KM approach will probably be integrated and hosted by Andel. The combined offering will be available to Andel's managed application clients. It will also be available for client-managed applications to make it easy for KMS customers to add content management.
