I'm still here at the other evil empire. You may have heard of laid offs at Microsoft which is a sign of the times. I'm glad to keep doing what I'm doing. But, sad about my friends that are looking for new jobs. This includes my IBM friends looking for a place to land, In my case there was 5 months as a free agent before moving to the west coast.

These tough times are really hard, but so much harder for those who lose their jobs. Hope the economy will turn around fast!

I'm a bit surprised MS is laying off 3000 people and then planning on hiring 3000 over the next year. Guess they decided it was time to reallocate people and hopefully not outsource to cheaper jobs that don't work out...
