Easier IBM Lotus Domino Administration Reporting with Shireburn Integra
Integra for Domino Administrators provides analysis not available through Domino Administrator or directly from databases and exports to Microsoft Excel for graphics.
Integra for Notes reporting tool maker Shireburn Software Ltd is offering a new product designed specifically for Lotus Notes/Domino Administrators. Integra for Domino Administrators is an out-of-the-box reporting solution that provides reporting and analysis capabilities via Microsoft Excel. Admins can use the information they gather through this reporting to help streamline administration, fine-tune systems, and maximize the value of the infrastructure.
Integra for Domino Administrators provides the tools necessary to analyze the different areas admins usually monitor in a Domino environment, such as mail sizes, ACL settings, usage of databases, people & groups, server performance, etc. Using Excel lets admins go beyond static reporting and use Excel's charts, pivot tables, and macros for data analysis.
Integra for Domino Administrators combines data from several databases for the administrator to analyze, including:
Access Control List (ACL) settings -- Audit ACL settings of users or groups across databases; derive effective ACL rights of users and/or groups considering the user's membership in groups including nesting of groups; identify orphaned ACL entries in databases for users or groups no longer used in the Domino Directory, and so on.
Administrative -- Audit the properties of settings and configurations such as connection documents, replication scheduled.
Mail settings & usage -- Report on mail file settings, sizes, templates, etc.
Analysis errors in Log files -- Generate activity and error reports from log files.
Replication and Connections -- Audit configurations, replication traffic, and errors.
Agents analysis -- Assess what agents run on which databases.
People and Groups -- Identify users and the groups to which they belong, including recursive nesting of groups.
Resources -- Report on the use of meeting rooms and resources.
Server Statistics -- Generate reports and charts of server availability, CPU and memory usage, user load, and so on.
You install Integra for Domino Administrators by deploying a Notes SmartIcon to the desktop, an automated task. You generate reports from a Lotus database (such as the Domino Directory, Catalog, Log, etc.) or via an automated schedule by clicking on the SmartIcon. You can set schedules, automate report distribution by e-mail, convert reports to PDF, and to save reports to the file system or to a Notes database. You can customize reports by changing the visual and configuration aspects of the reports. After you export the data to Excel, you can can use Excel's tools to enhance and analyze the results.
"Integra for Domino Administrators allows administrators to obtain information not normally available to them or not available as easily in the provided format. For instance, identifying the effective ACL rights of users or groups to various databases taking into account nested groups, or being able to analyze replication errors through Excel enhances the performance of the Domino administrator," said John de Giorgio, CEO of Shireburn Software Ltd.
Integra for Domino Administrators is US$999 per administrator. It requires the Lotus Notes Collaboration Client 5x or newer for Windows 95/98, NT, ME, 2000, XP. All supported operating system versions of Domino 6/5 are supported, although scheduled reports require a Windows version of Domino or a separate Notes client. Sample reports and a 15 day evaluation are available at http://www.integrareports.com/admins.
