Proposion Report Adapter for Notes/Domino Reports

The Proposion Report Adapter extends Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services to integrate with IBM Lotus Notes/Domino.

The Proposion Report Adapter extends Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services to integrate with IBM Lotus Notes/Domino. With it, any Notes database is a data source for Reporting Services and you can deliver scheduled reports via a Notes infrastructure. Reporting Services is a server-based tool that lets you create, manage, and deliver paper reports and interactive Web reports. Proposion Report Adapter is a set of extensions that let you integrate Reporting Services with Lotus Notes databases and mail systems.

According to Kyle Robbins of Technip, a worldwide engineering firm in the field of hydrocarbons and petrochemicals and an early adopter of Proposion Report Adapter, "We started using SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services as a business intelligence tool for databases within the Americas region, and wanted to access our document control data that resides in Lotus Notes. We found Proposion Report Adapter, which worked great and did everything we needed it to do. The combination of Reporting Services and Proposion Report Adapter makes one of the best Web-enabled reporting solutions for Lotus Notes."

Proposion Report Adapter lets report designers using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and the Report Designer client create reports and charts that draw data directly from Lotus Notes/Domino databases (including images and attachments). At runtime, users can visit the Report Server from a Web browser and access cached or up-to-the minute versions of the report, view them interactively, or download them in a variety of formats (including HTML, PDF, Excel, and XML). Other enterprise applications can also create, run, export, and schedule reports using the Report Server Web services.

Krueger International (KI), an industry-leading furniture manufacturer with an international presence, uses Proposion Report Adapter to extract data from AS/400 databases and get the results into Microsoft Office Excel files. According to KI's Brett Siikarla, "Using Proposion Report Adapter, we've deployed quite a few reports for slicing data out of various Lotus Notes databases we've created at our company. For many new, basic report requests we are able to crank out the new report design and have it deployed for testing in a matter of minutes. This has also eased the burden of new report creation by I.S. because power users can now extract, slice, etc. information on their own. Use will continue to grow -- we're creating more and more Lotus Notes apps, and users need reports!"

Proposion Report Adapter lets you run any Reporting Services report (whether it is based on SQL Server, Notes data or another data source) on the server automatically and deliver it to subscribers via native Lotus Notes Mail or deposited in a Lotus Notes database.

Proposion Report Adapter is available for all Windows platforms that support SQL Server Reporting Services. The standard version of Proposion N2N supports Lotus Notes/Domino 5 or newer locally and connects to remote Lotus Domino servers on any platform.
