About this Article:

Previous versions of FileMaker have only provided a graphical interface for the creation of new database files. FileMaker Pro 7 introduces the ability to create FileMaker database tables via SQL commands sent to the database through an ODBC connection. The addition of this new functionality now makes it possible to automate FileMaker table creation tasks to migrate databases such as Microsoft Access to FileMaker Pro 7.

David Simpson is the president of .com Solutions and the developer of the FmPro Migrator and CGIScripter applications. These multi-platform applications automate FileMaker migration projects and the development of Perl CGI scripts. http://www.fmpromigrator.com
