Microsoft introduced the native Tab control in Access 97, but many early developers started using Andrew Miller's tab strip control in Access 2.0. This control leaves something to be desired -- as does the current Tab control. The backcolor isn't adjustable, the font color isn't adjustable, and the control eats up significant resources. Also, developers have a tendency to put several bound subforms on the control (figure 1).
