The WebSphere Commerce and MQ offerings build on a growing catalog of Express products for small and midsize companies. IBM also offers Express versions of WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, WebSphere Business Connection, Tivoli Storage Resource Manager, and the DB2 database.
WebSphere Commerce - Express
WebSphere Commerce - Express provides e-commerce transaction capabilities and online storefront features. The Express edition includes WebSphere Application Server - Express and DB2 - Express. Touting quick and easy installation, WebSphere Commerce - Express lets you create and manage online catalogs, use reporting tools to show online buying patterns and trends, develop marketing campaigns, and integrate with inventory and order management.
WebSphere MQ - Express
WebSphere MQ - Express lets you connect a variety of applications to share data across your infrastructure. The product eases the time and effort associated with managing and maintaining homegrown solutions, IBM says. The Express edition provides quick installation and lets you plug in any WebSphere MQ-enabled applications with little coding.
WebSphere Commerce - Express starts at US$20,000, and is available as of September 30, 2003. The starting price includes a processor license for production and preproduction, and one seat of WebSphere Commerce - Express Developer Edition.
