FileMaker is offering a free FileMaker to Keynote tool for download. It lets FileMaker customers transform data contained within FileMaker Pro 6 databases into native presentations for Apple Computer's Keynote presentation software.
The tool uses the XML/XSL Transformations (XSLT) support built within FileMaker Pro 6 to help developers extract text, graphics, and chart data from FileMaker Pro 6 databases to build Keynote presentations.
XSLT provides a standard way to describe how to transform the structure of an XML document into an XML document with a different structure.
"This new tool is another great example of how FileMaker Pro 6 users can easily leverage and integrate data within applications supporting XML," says FileMaker President Dominique Goupil.
You can get the download at http://www.filemaker.com/xml/xslt_library.html.
FileMaker XML Central offers more than 20 business-ready XSLT stylesheets for free download (see FileMaker XSLT Library). The stylesheets range from FileMaker Pro-to-Microsoft Excel to FileMaker Pro-to-iPod. All of them translate XML grammars, letting FileMaker Pro exchange data with other applications supporting XML.
