About this Article:
In every computer environment and for every application, testing is required to ensure that programs and systems operate as expected. In many cases, especially workflow applications (the forte of Lotus Notes), the testing requires the involvement of many different people. Often, each of these people perform different roles, with different options available based on the role and the status of the item being tested.
John P. M. Dillon has been developing Notes applications, predominately workflow apps, for a research firm in Ventura County, California since 1996. He recently began teaching Rapid Application Development with Lotus Notes at California Lutheran University. Outside of work, his passion is the sport of performance rally, a Notes-like motorsport, where racing happens in remote areas, with close collaboration between driver and navigator, at very high speeds. John's team has won several races and championships and is currently seeking partners and sponsors for the upcoming season. On occasion he can be heard torturing the keys of his piano while composing music.
