Do you spend a lot of time testing for errors that might occur in your FileMaker scripts? Are the error messages users read an incomprehensible pile of techno-speak? d-Werks TrapEase lets you bypass there annoyances.
d-Werks TrapEase is a tool for trapping and displaying errors in FileMaker Pro databases. Developers can use it to test for problems in the middle of complex scripts and provide users with messages that are easy to understand.
According to d-Werks, the product eliminates the need for developers to anticipate possible errors and spend time building complex trapping routines to ensure those errors don't damage users' routines. To that end, TrapEase simplifies error trapping by automatically evaluating errors and displaying the appropriate error message in friendly language.
Developers can customize error messages based on the specific error type. They can control alert icons, system beeps, message text, and course of action for any error a user encounters.
The tool works with FileMaker Pro 5.0 and newer. Built entirely in FileMaker Pro, TrapEase requires no additional software or plug-ins.
TrapEase will sell for US$69, and should be available by August 15, 2001.
