People You Should Know

The Lotus Advisor Editorial Board works to help you.

By David Nolan, Managing Editor

Many people work behind the scenes of Lotus Advisor to help us give you the best technical and business guidance.

A key resource is the Lotus Advisor Editorial Board. Involved with us as editors, writers, consultants, speakers, analysts and insiders, their years of experience and hard-won wisdom are invaluable. If you have benefited from a Lotus Advisor article, conference, tip, seminar, CD, Web site, or e-mail, chances are these folks deserve some credit.

Meet the Lotus Advisor Editorial Board:

Steve Caudill wrote his first article for Lotus Advisor (then known as Lotus Notes Advisor) in February 1995. Since then he's been editor, technical editor, writer of 61 articles, valued speaker at Lotus Advisor DevCon, and perennial judge for the Lotus Advisor Editors' Choice Awards. Steve designs commercial software for Sussex Systems Inc.

Terrance Crow is deeply involved with Lotus Advisor and Lotus Advisor Expert journals as both a writer and technical editor. Since 1995, Terrance has contributed nearly one hundred articles. He enthusiastically contributes wherever he can, to Advisor Answers, Advisor Tips, on Advisor Forums, and in other Advisor publications. Terrance builds Web e-commerce solutions for Corporate One Federal Credit Union.

Rocky Oliver has contributed Lotus Advisor articles, taught Advisor Seminars, created Advisor Evals, presented Advisor Academy CDs, and judged Lotus Advisor Editors' Choice Awards. Rocky worked for the Lotus word processing division, and he has written books on LotusScript and Lotus Notes and Domino R5. Rocky designs Lotus Domino and IBM WebSphere solutions for Edward Lowe and Associates.

Henry Newberry is a frequent contributor to Lotus Advisor, and a regular speaker at Lotus Advisor DevCon and Advisor Seminars. With more than a decade of Notes and Domino experience, Henry brings great understanding of Lotus technology and the business value of using it. Henry does high-level Internet and Domino consulting for his own Newbs Consulting Inc.

Hans van der Burg has been prolific in the past year, writing Advisor articles on Notes and Domino Rnext, Lotus Sametime, and Domino security, to name a few. Providing a valuable perspective on Europe, Hans worked for Lotus as a senior consultant and for EMD as a systems architect, and now is an independent consultant.

Carl "Pooter" Kraenzel joined Lotus in 1994 and has been instrumental in the launch of several products such as Lotus QuickPlace and Lotus Knowledge Discovery System. Carl is an experienced entrepreneur, technology/business evangelist, speaker, and writer, and provides valuable perspective to Lotus Advisor.

We appreciate the time and efforts of the Lotus Advisor Editorial Board. If you get the chance, let them know how you feel about Lotus Advisor, Lotus
technology, and IT and e-business evolution. And, we always want to hear from you directly at Lotus@Advisor.com.

Lotus Advisor DevCon
You can meet most of the Editorial Board when they speak at Lotus Advisor DevCon, October 29-31 in Washington, D.C. Our host hotel, Crystal Gateway Marriott, is two blocks from the Pentagon (take the tour!) and right on the super-convenient Washington Metro subway line. It's just five minutes to the Smithsonian, the Capitol, the monuments, and lots more. Did you know that most of the best sights in Washington have FREE admission?

Remember, by attending Lotus Advisor DevCon you get two conferences for one price, because you can also attend any of the technical sessions and activities of the concurrent WebSphere Advisor DevCon at no charge. Lotus Advisor DevCon is also where you will learn the winners of the Lotus Advisor Excellence Awards. For complete information on registration, accommodations, and sessions, see the section starting on page 29 of this issue. For the latest information, go to www.Advisor.com/Events.
